The Dinner Party

I love having dinner parties! The key is to keep everything simple. Make sure you know your guests' likes and dislikes. Nothing worse than having Beef Bourguignon and your guest is a vegan. Set a stunning table, whether its casual or formal, have a  theme to go with the menu. I use my yellow French linen for a Mexican feast and my white linen for a more formal meal. It's very important to keep the center piece low, so your guests can see one another. Have a great playlist ready and Have Fun!

I best get busy, my guests will be arriving soon and they are bringing dinner! The best guests!!

Clean, Calm Feeling of Warm Neutrals

When the season changes to Autumn, we tend to think of darker colors for our décor. Neutral colors enhance any room's decorating style. I like to work with warm neutrals of White, Serene Cream, Glamours Gray, and Rich Brown for the comfy cosy anytime feeling.

The Unwelcome Guest....

As darling as they are, they are unwelcome guests at my home...

Goodbye Roses

They weren't fazed by my tapping on the glass, they continued eating every last drop and were not going to stop. As I opened the door, they took off through the hedge. I always wanted a hole in the center...

The Guest Room ~

The ornaments of your house will be the guests who frequent it. Are you ready for house guests?

Towels & Soaps
~

When our guests visit we want them to feel extra special. Guests usually don’t stay that long, so  you can move little things from other parts of your home, into their space.  Keep a few towels on hand especially for guests. They will stay beautiful if used infrequently. Don’t waste your money on cute soaps, they only get tossed once the guests leave. Buy a nice liquid soap that can be used time and time again.
Have fun and enjoy your company!

For Sunday at home

~
What a glorious way to start Saturday.  I arrived at 8 AM at Atelier de Campagne LLC in Corralitos, CA  for  their semi-annual flea market sale of genuine European  collectables that had just arrived.
I spent an informative, enjoyable hour waiting in line, trying to be near first in when the doors opened to tag my distinctive treasures. I was surprised just how far people had come hoping to find a cherished item.
As far as I could tell, no one left empty-handed. There was such a wide variety of unique items, from sconces, galvanized pieces, mirrors, to chandeliers, clocks and ironwork. There was more than enough selection to satisfy everyone.
I love my “finds”, and can’t wait until the next  time…
